Sedgwick County Democratic Party Chair announces convention to fill Senate District 25 vacancy
WICHITA, Kan. – The election of Lynn Rogers as Lieutenant Governor of Kansas has created a vacancy in Kansas Senate District 25.
Pursuant to Kansas statute, Sheri Lynne Copridge, the Chair of the Sedgwick County Democratic Party, has called a convention of the Democratic Precinct Committeepersons of Senate District 25 to elect a replacement to serve the remainder of Lt. Gov.-Elect Rogers’ term.
The details of the Convention are:
WHEN: 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 1, 2018
WHERE: SEIU Local Union 513, 3340 W Douglas, Wichita, Kansas
All persons entering the Convention will be required to sign in. Those eligible electors for the convention will be provided credentialed badges that will authorize the elector to cast a ballot. Credentialed electors will be required to sit in the first two rows.
The event is free and open to the public. Members of the media are asked to notify SCDP to help prepare adequate arrangements.
There are 17 Precinct Committeepersons for Senate District 25 elected to represent their respective precincts in the August 2018 primary election. The Sedgwick County Democratic Party has provided a draft set of rules for review for the electors and potential candidate nominees in advance of the meeting. These rules are proposed and will not be official until adopted by the electors of the Convention.
